Handling of Personal Data

Personal data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. These include, for example, information such as your name, age, address, telephone number, date of birth, e-mail address, IP address or user behaviour. Information by which we can not (or only with disproportionate effort) relate to your person, e.g. when information has been anonymised, is not considered personal information. Processing of personal data (e.g. collecting, querying, using, storing or transmitting) always requires a legal basis or your consent. Processed personal data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of the processing has been achieved and no legally required retention requirements have to be maintained. If we process your personal data, we will inform you below about the specific processes, the scope and purpose of the data processing, the legal basis for the processing and the respective storage period.

When accessing and using the website, your browser automatically transmits certain personal data to the server of our hosting service provider. These are temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following data, which are technically necessary for the hosting service provider to display the website and to ensure its stability and security, are transmitted: IP address of the requesting computer, date and time of access, name and URL of the retrieved file, website from which access takes place, the browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer, as well as the name of your access provider. For the named data processing Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as legal basis. The processing of the aforementioned data is necessary for the provision of a website and thus serves to safeguard a legitimate interest. As soon as the mentioned data for displaying the website are no longer required, they will be deleted. The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is required for the operation of the website. The user therefore has no option to object. If required by law data storage will occur for a longer period of time in individual cases.

Insofar as personal data (such as name, address or e-mail addresses) are collected on these pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis, as far as possible. These data will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent. On the website we offer you to get in touch with Dr. Gekel Consulting via e-mail. Every website visitor is able to send his request to the mentioned e-mail address. Our data collection is limited to the e-mail address of the e-mail account you used to contact us as well as to the personal data that you have disclosed in your message. The admissibility of the data collection is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, since there is a consistent interest in establishing contact and communication between you and our company and a legitimate business interest in processing the above data in order to be able to process your request. The duration of the storage of the above data depends on the background of your contact. A deletion of your data takes place regularly, as long as the pursued purpose of the communication is omitted and a storage is no longer necessary.

Attention is drawn to the fact that the transmission of data on the Internet (for example, when communicating by e-mail) may have security vulnerabilities. A complete protection of the data from access by third parties is not possible. The use of published contact information by third parties for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information materials is hereby objected. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam e-mails. We only share your personal information with third parties if:

  • you expressly consent to this in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR

  • permitted by law and in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR required to fulfill a contractual relationship with you

  • a legal obligation exists according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR for the passing on

  • the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR is required to safeguard legitimate corporate interests and to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have a predominantly legitimate interest in not disclosing your data.

Tracking and Analysis Tools

Currently we do not use tracking and analysis tools to ensure continuous optimisation and needs-based design of our website. With the help of tracking measures, it is possible to statistically evaluate the website use (by visitors) and to further develop the online offer with the help of the insights gained. Due to these interests, the use of tracking and analysis tools is justified (in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR). In order to protect your privacy and to treat your personal data confidentially, the website uses the recognised encryption method SSL. However, please note that due to the structure of the Internet, it is possible that the rules of data protection and the above mentioned safeguarding measures will not be respected or followed by other persons or institutions outside our area of responsibility. In particular, data which are disclosed in an unencrypted way (e.g. via e-mail) can be read by third parties. We have no technical influence on this. It is the responsibility of the user to protect the data provided by him using encryption or otherwise against misuse.
